I like this game because I'm always - WINNING.
First of all, great game. I played a bishop, judgement didn't destroy the enemy projectiles for me, but it wasn't that big of a problem I guess.
A couple suggestions, if you made the level cap 20 or 25, it would be good enough to experiment with different trees. Making the level cap limitless might be too much and too boring. That being said, I wish I could change the button layout, I want to move with WASD instead of the arrow keys, but I gotta do with what I got I guess.
So you lead on your player through a series of difficult missions, with x9 lives that we didn't know we had unless we paused the game (it's such a small icon, why not show it all the time?) and then when we get to the final boss, everyone's probably thinking they can just retry infinitely till they win, but we're greeted with a big giant game over if we haven't been paying attention to the lives we spent. If the game wasn't so damn hard, then it wouldn't have been a problem, but playing on a keyboard hasn't gotten any easier since flash games started. While I understand that this was just a small game you made to practice or whatever, I still think you could've made the story better and make the transition from level to level a little better.
The reason why capcom made the games 'hard' if you can say that word, it's because they put things in front of you that you could not avoid unless you had played the game already once. I really don't agree with that philosophy of gameplay, you did a wonderful job of replicating that, thus, the difficulty. But if I was in charge of a mega man game, I'd have to go the other route and challenge the player with either puzzles or A.I. from enemies instead of pitfalls that you can't see. Somebody obviously enjoys that type of challenge, and will probably argue that that's what makes a mega man game, the unknown pitfalls, etc. But when I remember mega man, I don't think of pitfalls or stupid hard levels, I think of the bad guys you have to fight, the music, and overall, the presentation of the game. You did good, and if you ever make another one, I hope it makes the front page again.
This is a great idea for a game, especialy the customization option. It's got that greyish feel from madness, but the gameplay and graphics are totally different.

Needs work~ Not bad though
This was fun, pretty much like Madness Interactive. It just needs to progress forward. Also there was these red lines on top and below the main character, that got annoying after a while. I like the clips dropping, except they were a tad too big, like 2 pixels too big (I know it seems like i'm bitching, but i'm just saying ~ ). I know they were vampires, but it would be fun to shoot and kill in one shot =D, I like the fact the guns had a lot of ammo, in madness interactive, it demanded that you were quick when it came to switching guns and picking up stuff, and dropping guns, and managing bullet time, etc, too much to worry about for a flash game. Yours was simple and semi-clean lol(with all the blood and what not) Keep working on it, you'll do good.
I'm getting really frustrated, the timing is messed up and not long enough, everytime I get to a new part, I always die first, and I can't get it till the 4th try, and it just keeps happening, I don't understand the whole reasoning behind starting from the beggining again, it's annoying as hell. The butterfly is a pain in the rear.
I just took a break from writing this and finished playing it..
that's it? -_-;;... you did good, but it's awfully short and the timing is off sometimes.. like I said, it got frustrating at times, I felt like closing it and never opening it again. Hope the next one isn't so hard.
Needs work of course, my advice is :
Animate things a bit more, animate the sky with clouds, shade things more, maybe make the character do random things instead of a simple walk back and forth thing. More forms of attacking, jumping on the head is kinda mario-ish. Sometimes I couldn't kill the enemy cuz I couldn't jump on top of them, otherwise I would land on the roof. Keep up the good work!
